DAO-recognized Name: PGov

Individual or Organization: Organization
Time Zone: UTC -5 (US East Coast)

Relevant Background and skills:

  • Paraswap Growth Working Group Member
  • Active Velora Delegate and DIP Member
  • 4+ years of governance experience
  • Delegate for various blue chip defi protocols and L2s
  • Contributed to growth teams at various teams and web3 projects
  • Active currently in relevant roles with protocols including Uniswap, Compound, Optimism, Arbitrum, etc.

What can you contribute to the Velora Growth Committee?:
As a member of the initial Growth Working Group, we are confident we can continue to contribute to this committee, particularly with Defi integrations and token utilization. As an active participant across various DAOs, we have a wide scope on the current state of affairs across Defi and can utilize our networks to help grow the DAO in this role significantly.

We will use our overarching goals to provide as much long term sustainable value as we can.
  • Growth: Our decisions are primarily focused on the growth of the protocol. This often results in how to spend money efficiently, but even more importantly and objecting for unreasonable spends and knowing when to vote no.
  • Transparency: Clear communication with votes and explanations of reasoning, and an equivalent demand for proposals to do the same. Too often we see thousands, if not millions, being rolled up together and glossed over during proposals.
  • Accountability: Too often once a decision is done, having proper accountability becomes an afterthought. Whether it’s a DAO promise or a grant or a new program, once a DAO votes something in, we forget about it. Our goal with PGov is to both continue to check in on these decisions as well as ensure that there are proper channels set up to ensure accountability.

What is your motivation for applying to this working group?:

We are heavily involved in Velora adjacent protocols that provide extensive experience for this role and believe this will be a perfect to provide tangible value. For example, we are founding members of the Uniswap Accountability Committee and involved on many chains Velora is deployed on such as Optimism and Arbitrum.

List your past or current association, history, role and contributions to the Velora protocol or DAO:

  • Paraswap Growth Working Group Member
  • Active Velora Delegate and DIP Member
  • Investor and token holder
  • Early user and airdrop recipient
  • Worked with Paraswap team members on prior governance initiatives

Other DAO roles or working groups:

  • Uniswap Accountability Committee: Help maintain deployments of Uniswap across different chains, hold different service providers to the DAO accountable, manage operations and deliverables for the DAO
  • Optimism Grants and Milestones/Metrics Council: Ensure accountability and deliverables on grants for the DAO
  • Compound Governance Group: Steward for the DAO and manage the governance ecosystem.
  • Badger Treasury Council: Day to day work on treasury, growth, and financial operations management for the DAO.
  • Engagements with Arbitrum, Lido, Moonwell, etc.

Conflict of Interest Declaration: PGov is actively involved in governance across defi protocols. As mentioned, we will leverage this experience and network and disclose conflicts of interest as they arise. We are not delegates at other DEX aggregators and have recently offramped our Cowswap delegation to focus solely on Velora.

DAO-recognized Name: Proxy (formerly Boardroom)

Individual or Organization?: Organization

Time Zone (For Coordination Purposes): Eastern Time (UTC‑4)

Relevant Background and Skills: Proxy is a team of governance professionals with over 5 years of active involvement in DAO governance. Kevin Nielsen was previously the founder of Boardroom (recently acquired by Agora), a platform supporting DAOs and protocols with governance infrastructure and tooling. He has led governance advisory and operation roles for large protocol DAOs and specialized in delegate management and governance workflows in previous roles. Proxy currently works as a governance service provider for Moonwell. Some recurring operations include publishing weekly and monthly governance reports, managing social media communications with professional editing, hosting and editing community calls, and building out governance documentation. In our work in various DeFi communities, we’ve observed and learned from industry best practices. We hope we can bring those learnings to contribute to the VGC.

What can you contribute to the Velora Growth Committee? Proxy brings several strengths that align with the VGC’s mandate:

  • DAO Operations Experience: With our background building out DAO operations across different ecosystems, we think we would be able to contribute meaningfully on the partnerships and integrations front. We are prepared to represent Velora in different forums and push for relevant partnerships.
  • Marketing & Community Engagement: We have a track record in producing governance-related content and hosting community calls. Creating educational content (e.g. social media campaigns, AMAs, etc) would be directly within our wheelhouse.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment: Our role necessitates working collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders. We frequently engage with and serve as a liaison between core teams, delegates, and the wider community to align objectives. The VGC requires a similar degree of collaboration between the Treasury Manager, Governance Task Force, Laita Labs, and the community. We need to have open communication to avoid duplication of efforts and make sure everyone is aligned.

What is your motivation for applying to this working group? We are deeply invested in Velora’s mission and the Growth Committee is an opportunity to directly help the ecosystem expand and mature. We’re active participants in Velora governance, and we’ve been hoping to become more active in an official capacity.

Past/Current Association with Velora DAO:

  • Active delegate. We have voted on and engaged with the majority of proposals this year. We consistently provide our voting rationale and attend DAO events like the community calls.
  • Selected as one of the delegates in the Delegate Incentives Program (Cycle 1).

Other DAO roles or working groups: Outside of Velora, Proxy serves as a delegate and/or service provider in several other communities. We are active delegates for Morpho, Scroll, ZKsync, Uniswap, Safe, and Superfluid. We are contributors to Moonwell through our ongoing support of its governance operations. We often collaborate with other DAO working groups and task forces.

Conflict of Interest Declaration: We have no conflicts of interest to declare. Proxy does not perform similar roles for any direct competitors of Velora. Our collaborations with other DAOs are focused on governance operations and/or acting as an informed delegate. These are in unrelated domains and do not pose a conflict with Velora’s growth objectives. If any potential conflict of interest were to arise, we would disclose it immediately and take appropriate steps.

DAO-recognized Name: Curia

Individual or Organization?: Organization

Time Zone (For Coordination Purposes): GMT +7

Relevant Background and Skills:

Curia Lab is a DAO governance enthusiast and analytics team with members in the space since 2019. We’ve built governance tooling, contributed as professional delegate, and support data-driven initiatives for protocols such as Safe, Optimism, and Arbitrum spanning governance, community, and comprehensive DAO data analysis.

What Can You Contribute to the Velora Growth Committee?

  • Strategic Operations & Partnerships: Leveraging our active participation across leading DAOs, we bring deep insights into the governance and operational dynamics of each protocol; we can tap into our cross-DAO connections to forge collaborative partnerships, drive mutual benefit initiatives, and expand Velora’s ecosystem reach through targeted DeFi integrations and token-utilization strategies.
  • Content Creation & Community Engagement: Develop and distribute compelling Velora-centric campaigns, facilitate community calls, and produce educational resources to attract and retain users.
  • SEA Marketing & Onboarding: Create Velora-focused content tailored for Southeast Asian audiences and leverage it to onboard new users; collaborate with local SEA communities to host meetup events and educational sessions, fostering regional adoption.

Motivation for Applying (max 3 sentences):

  1. Velora’s intent-based aggregation architecture represents the next frontier in DeFi, and we want to help it achieve its full potential.
  2. Our mission, to empower DAOs through transparent, data-driven governance, perfectly complements Velora’s ethos.
  3. Joining the VGC offers an exciting opportunity to collaboratively drive sustainable growth and elevate accountability standards.

Past/Current Association with Velora Protocol or DAO:

  • investor and token holder
  • Early user and airdrop recipient
  • Governance delegate

Other DAO Roles or Working Groups:

  • Delegate: SafeDAO, ArbitrumDAO, EverClear DAO, Zkync, Optimism Collective, ScrollDAO, UniswapDAO, 1inchDAO, CoWDAO, Obol, GnosisDAO, CompoundDAO.
  • Optimism Milestones & Metric Council

Conflict of Interest Declaration:

We currently hold delegate roles in several DAOs, including 1inch and CoW, which may be considered direct competitors to Velora. We want to clarify that our involvement in these DAOs is strictly limited to governance participation in reviewing proposals, casting votes, and providing data analysis. We do not engage in any other activities beyond that. These roles are uncompensated for CoW, while we do receive compensation through their delegate program at 1inch.

Additionally, we operate with independent individuals assigned to each DAO we participate in. If selected for the Velora Growth Committee, a dedicated team member will focus exclusively on Velora to ensure clear alignment, priority, and confidentiality in both execution and communication. We remain fully committed to transparency and will promptly disclose any potential overlaps should they arise in the future.

We inform that the application period has ended. We will now review the submissions and proceed to submit a Snapshot vote as planned, so that the DAO can decide which 3 applicants will take a seat in the VGC Season 1.

SEEDGov, in our role as Governance Task Force and under the authority granted to ensure compliance with governance rules and proper execution of DAO selection processes, has reviewed all applications submitted in this thread. Below is the outcome of our review:

Qualified Applicants:

Flagged Applicants:

Applicants who qualified but we believe it is necessary to clarify their situations so that the DAO can take them into consideration when casting their vote.

  • TCook: SEEDGov has delegation teams involved in the governance of almost all the protocols where the applicant @Tcook claims to participate as a delegate: Uniswap, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Morpho. However, we have not been able to identify any DAO member known as ‘Tcook’ or similar within these communities. It is possible the applicant participates through an unnamed delegation team or uses a different username, but in any case, we were unable to verify their involvement, performance, expertise, skills, or track record as a delegate.

  • Curia: In their application, @Curia states that they act as delegates for 1inch and Cowswap, both of which are direct competitors of Velora. While they indicate they do not hold similar roles like those within the VGC and limit their involvement to governance participation, being a delegate still implies investing effort and resources in support of those protocols — in this case, two direct competitors.
Moreover, it’s important to note that @Laita, who will hold a passive seat in the VGC, has expressed concerns to us about this situation. Their team plans to share updates and strategic plans with the committee, which they may be reluctant to do in the presence of delegates actively engaged in the governance of competing protocols.
We consider this to be a borderline case, and we urge all delegates and tokenholders to carefully reflect on the potential conflict of interest before casting their votes.

Snapshot Voting:

The vote is now live on Snapshot.

We’ve set up a weighted voting system, allowing voters to use 100% of their voting power to support a single candidate, or distribute it across multiple applicants in any proportions you choose for each one.

Applicants are allowed to vote for themselves if they wish.

Please review all the applications and cast your vote to decide which 3 applicants will take a seat in the VGC Season 1! :backhand_index_pointing_right: Snapshot Voting

Hi everyone,

I wanted to send a note here and let you all know I will be rescinding my application.

I believe in the initiative and have full faith in @SEEDGov to steward but I have been offered another role with CoW on their grants council.

Given this I think appropriate for me to step back step back given the clear COI this creates.

Best of luck to the rest of the participants. I am certain this program will create meaningful growth for Velora.

Many thanks to @sov for the gesture of informing the DAO of the existing conflict of interest and stepping down from their application.

In the spirit of the transparency we promote within the DAO, we inform the community that we have held private conversations with the applicant following the conflict of interest they disclosed in their earlier post. As a result of that dialogue, Sov expressed their willingness to rescind the application, which they have now formally done. We sincerely appreciate this gesture.

Accordingly, as a result of their resignation and the conflict of interest, Sov’s application is officially disqualified. Any votes assigned to this applicant will not be counted. In the event that Sov is among the top three most-voted candidates, the fourth most-voted applicant will be selected instead. We kindly ask delegates and tokenholders to refrain from allocating any portion of their voting power to the disqualified application from now on.
