Sov: Delegate Platform

Hello, ParaSwap community! I’m Sov, and I am excited to contribute to ParaSwap’s continued growth and development.

I am dropping my Delegate Statement here and welcome any questions or outreach.

Introduction

My expertise lies in ecosystem development, grant program management, and cross-DAO coordination. I have a diverse background that spans both traditional and Web3 organizations. I successfully managed a profitable systems integrator for over a decade. I served as a volunteer Board President of a nationally recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit before transitioning to full-time work in Web3.

My active role as a delegate for multiple DAOs has allowed me to contribute to governance, program development, and ecosystem growth. As the Head of Grants at Gitcoin, a former member of the Optimism Grants Council, and a successful grantee from protocols such as Polygon, Aave, and the Ethereum Foundation, I bring unique and practical insight into ecosystem funding from both the grantor and grantee perspectives.

Driver & Values

As ParaSwap enters its next growth phase, I see an opportunity to drive governance participation and construct frameworks that bolster core protocol development and a broader ecosystem. I’m eager to lend my expertise to effectively aid in the evolution of ParaSwap’s governance, demonstrating my unwavering commitment to its growth.

With this in mind, the core values that will shape my governance participation are:

  • Ecosystem Growth: I’m committed to supporting initiatives strengthening ParaSwap’s position while ensuring growth through thoughtful resource allocation and partnerships.
  • Operational Excellence: I have proven experience establishing and maintaining governance frameworks that enable efficient decisions while remaining transparent.
  • Cross-Protocol Collaboration: I’ll work to identify and support initiatives that build bridges with complementary protocols while maintaining ParaSwap’s value proposition.
  • Sustainable Development: I advocate for data-driven decision-making and carefully consider immediate opportunities and long-term implications of decisions.

Disclosure

As Head of Grants at Gitcoin and an active delegate in multiple DAOs, I recognize the importance of transparent communication about potential conflicts of interest. While no direct conflicts exist, I will leverage my cross-ecosystem experience to benefit ParaSwap while disclosing any situations that could present conflicts as they arise.

Sharing here my rationale for the recent votes on Snapshot:

Proposal: [PIP-68 - Upgrade VeloraDAO’s space to Snapshot Pro](https://snapshot.box/#/s:paraswap-dao.eth/proposal/0x6f1cb58a0d5cd2b5a164fe3ebcf83fef1f9f7b24e67ca450316c49c25bcccda6)

Vote: For

Rationale: I support the upgrade to Snapshot Pro as it provides enhanced capabilities. The dedicated spam detection, priority support with 4-hour response times, and improved search visibility will strengthen our governance infrastructure and provide necessary SLAs.

Proposal: [Rewards distribution for Epoch 33](https://snapshot.box/#/s:paraswap-dao.eth/proposal/0x8b6a7698c4b91ab91142738cf898dae85232f9a955527e5deacf0c31335357d9)

Vote: For

Rationale: I reviewed the distribution calculations, which correctly apply the 80/20 split between stakers and the DAO treasury. I used the Velora verifier (https://velora-verifier.wakeuplabs.io/) to validate as per the instructions given.

Proposal: [Gas Refunds distribution for Epoch 33](https://snapshot.box/#/s:paraswap-dao.eth/proposal/0x8208ccd97c195301b4a104cc6b37465425d1417e8d0a559f394d8710cf74f4fe)

Vote: For

Rationale: The gas refund allocations properly follow the scoring system with appropriate caps. I used the Velora verifier (https://velora-verifier.wakeuplabs.io/) to validate as per the instructions given.

Sharing my rationale for recent votes on Snapshot:

Proposal: PIP-69 - Velora Treasury Management

Vote: For

Rationale: I support establishing a professional Treasury Manager framework with defined scopes, mandates, and accountability measures. As noted in my forum comment, the operational parameters I suggested (transaction thresholds, risk limits, KPIs) would strengthen implementation.

While I vote FOR the framework itself, I must note that Avantgarde has delegated significant voting power to me, so I would abstain from any future vote specifically selecting the treasury management provider.

Proposal: PIP-70 - Velora Contributors Program (VCP) - Cycle 2 Renewal

Vote: For

Rationale: I support the VCP Cycle 2 renewal as it expands beyond traditional delegation to reward research, integrations, and analytical tools.

As detailed in my forum feedback, the Contributor Points system creates proper incentives while SEEDGov’s evaluator discretion prevents gaming. My suggestions around collaborative bonuses, and modified structures seem to have been taken into account.

Sharing my rationale for recent votes:

-=-

Proposal: Rewards distribution for Epoch 34
Vote: For
Rationale: I reviewed the distribution calculations and they are correctly applied. Voting in favor of this.

Proposal: Gas Refunds distribution for Epoch 34
Vote: For
Rationale: The gas refund allocations properly follow the scoring system. I verified the calculations using the provided verification tool.

Proposal: PIP-71: VeloraDAO Sponsorship of Governance Day 2025 – Buenos Aires
Vote: For (Gold Tier)
Rationale: I voted for Gold tier sponsorship after weighing the value of positioning Velora at this premier gathering.

As @PGov and @Ignas noted in their statements, Governance Day offers unique opportunities for partnership development and thought leadership that align with Velora’s current goals. I acknowledge concerns about KPIs as noted here I think Gold tier investment is worth it for the cost.

I’d also note that for the relative cost of this event we spent an awful lot of time discussing it on the forum. IMO there should be some mechanism for smaller approvals that don’t require as much debate and time to decide.

Proposal: PIP-72 - Liquidity Funding for Futarchy Experimentation in Velora Governance
Vote: For

Rationale: I support this low-risk experiment to explore prediction markets as a governance signal, as detailed in my forum comment. The deployment for a 6-month non-binding pilot carries minimal risk while offering insights into futarchy’s potential role in DAO decision-making.

With that said I echo @Avantgarde observations about the limitations of price-based prediction markets, but believe the experimental value and potential Velora integration opportunity justify this trial.

Proposal: Rewards distribution for Epoch 35
Vote: For
Rationale: I reviewed and verified the distribution calculations and see the allocations correctly apply the split. I also reviewed the recent posts from @WakeUpLabs and @SEEDGov detailing the need to expedite this proposal.

Proposal: PIP-XX - Octav Treasury Management Services Partnership
Vote: For
Rationale: I support partnering with Octav for financial analytics services. Their platform provides automated transaction labeling, multi-chain portfolio tracking, and reporting that will enhance transparency and operational efficiency for the DAO.

I have added comments to the initial forum discussion here as well: PIP-73: VeloraDAO x Octav Partnership for Clear Treasury Reporting - #2 by Sov

Dropping here my rationale for a couple of the recent votes:

Proposal: Gas Refunds distribution for Epoch 36
Vote: For
Rationale: I verified that the gas refund allocations properly follow the scoring system. The calculations align with the established program parameters.

Proposal: Rewards distribution for Epoch 36
Vote: For
Rationale: I reviewed the distribution calculations, which correctly apply the split between stakers and the DAO treasury.

Proposal: PIP-74: Discontinuing the Gas Refund Program
Vote: For
Rationale: I support discontinuing the Gas Refund Program based on the data presented. The program’s cost-benefit ratio no longer justifies the multi-step operational flow required for execution.

Proposal: Gas Refunds distribution for Epoch 37
Vote: For
Rationale: I reviewed the distribution calculations. The verification tool confirm proper implementation of the parameters.

Proposal: Rewards distribution for Epoch 37
Vote: For
Rationale: I reviewed the distribution calculations. The verification tool confirms proper implementation of the reward parameters.
