These were straightforward Yes votes from our end. We appreciate the WakeUp Labs team for introducing a verification tool for the rewards disbursement and gas refunds—certainly helpful for reviewing these proposals.

PIP-64: Formalisation of Laita Labs as a Service Provider

Rationale:

Laita is a key, if not the primary, stakeholder in the Velora ecosystem. It’s difficult for the protocol to conceivably function in an orderly way without their presence. The ask also seems to be reasonable. Our main concern around the timing and intention of this proposal was also aptly addressed—

This brings us to the final and perhaps more pressing question: why is the timing for this proposal now? The hunch is that it’s based on internal runway projections. It would be helpful to understand what the financial situation of Laita is generally at the moment so we can best understand how much the team needs and what the increase is funding requests could look like over time.

The Laita team clarified that the state of the DAO has reached a state of professionalism to allow for the servicing of teams like theirs via the DAO in a more decentralized manner. Plus, with the new intents nature of the proposal and full rebrand to Velora, there has to be a strong, central entity leading efforts around research and adoption of the platform. We therefore voted in favor of this funding proposal.
